What to use for multistep(wizards) in 2016?

Hey Chris,

As of July 2016 what gem/solution would you use to create multistep forms? I have found a couple of solutions but couldn't decide what to choose. They kinda seemed a bit obsolete. It's also hard to decide if I should use some kind of state machine solution. Do you have some best practices?

Hey Szilard -

Wicked wizard is still the best solution that I've seen out there - it works with Rails 5.0, however you'll probably find that the documentation is a bit old.

@grow a garden I agree in the post!

Finding a balanced multistep form solution requires simplicity, clear state management, and sane dependencies without overengineering or brittle hacks pitfalls.

@ Wicked gem – the “classic” Rails multistep wizard gem. It makes it easy to define steps in a controller and handles URLs/step flow for you.
